Charl Schwartzel happens to be one of the very few golfers who has recently come under attack from the media for his decision to rescind his PGA Tour contract.

The golfer’s resignation from the PGA Tour just like the other big names has overwhelmed the golf world and has shocked everyone to the marrow.

How much did Charl Schwartzel get paid for LIV?

The 37-year-old, Johannesburg-based golfer has only won one major championship, the Masters in 2011. After finishing in a tie for fourth place at the WGC-Cadillac Championship a decade ago, Schwartzel’s highest world ranking was number six.

Apart from the South African golfer, Dustin Johnson, one of the big names in golf confirmed he has also resigned from the PGA Tour in preparation for the LIV Golf’s inaugural tournament.

He decided to participate in the Saudi-funded golf league according to rumors and is believed to have been lured by an irresistible offer.

The big-hitting American joins fellow countryman Kevin Na, Spaniard Sergio Garcia, and South African trio Branden Grace, Charl Schwartzel, and Louis Oosthuizen in giving up their PGA Tour cards to focus on the new LIV Golf series.

As of now, the contract sum Schwartzel received is not specified; however, in the coming weeks, more light would be thrown on that.
